When reading this Newsletter we are reminded that all churches from the beginning of Christianity have had the same problem with carnality that we have today. We must also realize that good leaders have learned how to teach and train the saints not just entertain the Body of Christ.
Christianity is very weak today because it lack the meat of the word. We will talk a little about how we as Christian can get revived by the word of God. The unsaved need to be raised from the dead not revived.
What Can We Do?
Revivals have been going on for a long time in the Churches. Most Churches have revival services where they hire an evangelist to bring revival to the unsaved in the community, but the saints need to revived from carnality. More time needs to be spent training and teaching the Body of Christ. Revival is for the saints not the unsaved that do not desire the milk of the word. They need to be built up.
“For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Heb 5:12-14 (NKJV)
Why would someone with an empty tank get a refill without knowing that they are in a empty condition? They may not even know they need to be refilled. Our leaders don’t offer the teaching to help them understand. We need to create the desire for the proper fuel that they need, which is the milk of the word, not teach history and cute stories. I will agree prophecy is important because it teaches the plan of God and His faithfulness to it.
We must acknowledge it ..
]One of the problems with Carnal Christians is they don’t want to acknowledge it. Maybe they are embarrassed. Sitting in a Church for years and years and not knowing God’s will. We could blame it on the Pastor or teacher since they don’t teach the basic elements of God. I have talked to a lot of Christians that believe in that works are part of their salvation.
The Church often teaches the history of the Nation of Israel, or even what Jesus taught, Jesus was a minister to the circumcised, and taught the Children of Israel about the Law and the coming earthly Kingdom. We don’t live in the dispensation of the law, we live in the dispensation of Grace. Jesus said it is finished when he died on the cross, which means that the end of the Law has come because the Law has been fulfilled by the sacrifice of the perfect lamb. God started something new call the Body of Christ.
Those that are saved by Grace do not live by the Law. We did not receive our salvation by living by the law, we received it by grace. Grace is free and does not require works to obtain it.
We must live by the Spirit …
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Gal 5:18 (NKJV)
This verse is a choice in how you want to live your life, either we live by the law or by the Holy Spirit which lives within us. We can’t live by both together.
Teaching the promises of God without the principles does not build faith in God. Why is it that we don’t teach the doctrine of God that the Apostle Paul’s wrote in his epistles to the Body of Christ? Even though the leaders of the Body of Christ are responsible for feeding the Saints we as Christians have to be reminded of our own responsibility to study and to allow the holy spirit to teach us.
Check out this verse;
“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him” 1 John 2:27 (NKJV)
If those that read God’s word and lead others do not know how to rightfully divide the word, the rest of the Church is in trouble.
We must study …
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Tim 2:15 (KJV)
The responsibly of a leader in the Church is to teach and train the Body of Christ but that is not an excuse for the Christian. It is clear that we as Christians are responsible to be approved unto God by Studying His word.
Remember reading the word is not studying.
No one can be held responsible but ourselves. We have the Holy Spirit and all the truth within us, He will teach us, but we must recognize it and respond.
